Ken Reimer

As a leader in the New Media sector, Ken's background includes successful startups (TSI, LearnStream, YLEARN) in advanced learning technologies and elearning. In the higher educatiton field, Ken is the founding Director of the Centre for Enhanced Teaching and Learning at the University of New Brunswick, and has recently taken on the new UNB Online initiative.

Ken created LearnStream through a leveraged buyout, raising $2.1 million to finance the transaction. From its start in 1998, the company grew to employ over 150 people, with operations in the US and Europe, before being sold to a Toronto-based investor in 2005.

Recently, for the National Research Council (NRC), Ken developed partnerships between the research and development community and industry players in the fields of health care and digital media.

Based in Fredericton, Ken is proud to be part of the New Brunswick digital media community. This regional hotbed of innovation boasts dozens of new media companies, and hundreds of instructional designers, 3D graphic artists, animators, e-learning designers and media developers.

Ken presents a paper on learning principles behind engineering related learning objects at the eLearning-Africa conference, held in Nairobi, Kenya.

November 2005:
